KK Owners Map

Postby DachsieSlave » Oct 27th, '08, 05:57

I was just playing around and created a KK owners map through Google. Take a look and let me know if you all like it. I have made it open for all to add to. Excuse the picture I have, I just wanted to see how it works. If there is no interest I will remove it.

That's kind of slick! Add your location and a pic of your KK! Neat idea - 8)

I'm on the map!

To add your location and picture log into your google account to edit. If you don't have one click "sign in" and it will give you the option to create one. If anyone needs an invite to get a gmail account let me know and I can send an invite to an existing email.

To add your marker, after you sign in click edit in the left margin.
Zoom in on the area you want.
Then click on the blue tear drop marker at the top of the map window.
Click on the location you want. This will open the window for you to enter your info.

Hire is a link to a video walking through the process.

I have found another possibly easier way to get added to the map. You must still have a google account and be signed in. Add the KK map to your "My Maps" list, then use the search maps at the top of the screen to find your address. It will show a placemark on the map and open an info box. in the info box will be a "save to my maps option" Click on it. Placemark is added and edit box opened to enter your info.

I'm not sure where you found the little house icon but I've marked both the factory and my Surabaya house..

Dennis,

When the edit window is open, where you entered your comments, click on the icon at the top. A drop down window will open with different icons to choose.

I think this is a great idea, I've moved it to the See a KK forum and made it a sticky so it's easier to find. Note that you don't have to open your home to people wanting to see a KK to put your dot on the map. Thanks!

I'm not sure about that, we've got a "soon-to-be" owner, I guess it's up to Roy to decide if he wants to allow "wannabe" owners :)

Tony,

Not sure if someone is messing with you or did it by accident. I had someone move mine on another map before they figured out what they were doing. Just go back into the edit mode and you can click and drag yourself back to where you belong. That sounds like a song.
